Story:
A four-storeyed block of flats in a provincial town. As most of these blocks of flats, this one also has its black sheep. That is Džomba. He is between 35 and 40 years old and lives on the upper floor in a one-bedroom flat he inherited from his mother. He is not married and is unemployed. He lives on the dole, here and there doing semi-legal jobs. He does not socialize with anyone in the building. He is looked upon as an idler and a loser. He has only got one gift. He can imitate people. Whenever he encouters a person, he immediately mimics his or her movements and ways of speaking. It is something he does naturally, without making it a joke or anything like that. Because of this people find him strange, unpleasant even, and prefer to stay away from him. There are some children who like him and he shows a reserved friendliness towards some of them.
In the first part of the film we get to know the lives occupying the block of flats: the people, the relationships, the forced appearances, the hiding, the feelings of superiority, the intrigues, but also brighter sides.
Then there is an earthquake. People flee…their flats are damaged. There is a threat of further shock waves and that is why people camp on the lawn outside the building, sleep in their cars, etc. The only person who continues to live in the building is Džomba. He does not really care whether he stays alive or not. After a while he grows to like the situation. He has his peace and quiet and there is enough food in various flats of the building. After a few days there are new shock waves, the building is even more damaged. Džomba is forced to move from one flat to another. That is how he gradually discovers secrets of seemingly faultless tenants (photographs, diaries, documents, home shot porn videotapes, etc.).
Each morning he starts to communicate with other tenants on the lawn from the top of the building. Their nights become sleepless, particularly of those whose flat Džomba is currently occupying. Džomba's morning appearances become the most important moments of the day. Džomba sometimes acts out situations between the tenants of the flat currently in use, and between them and their neighbours. After Džomba's revelations, the relationships between the tenants start to drastically change. There are new conflicts, but also new alliences. Their attitudes towards Džomba change according to the situations. From hatred and friendliness to bootlicking servitude. In short, the building is falling apart and the relationships radically change.
There is a new truth.
At last Džomba announces a day when he intends to link together all information and completely unmask everybody.
Painful days of tension.
A few hours before the revelation there is the strongest shock wave. The building collapses into ruins.
The paralyzed tenants stand on the lawn.
They have lost everything, but yet there is something else on their minds…
Is Džomba alive or dead?
Should they rescue him…?
